The mechanism

Here's exactly what happens, step by step

From your first requirement to fifteen years, or any agreed term of managed power delivery, one marketplace runs the whole relationship.

The mechanism

Here's what happens behind the scenes

You submit one requirement. Wattmatch runs the rest: sourcing, competition, vetting and contracting, end to end.

01

Submit

Share your load profile, location and requirement. That’s your only job.

02

Bid

Verified generators compete for your demand in a live auction.

03

Benchmark

We score every bid on price and credibility: no benchmarking effort on your end.

04

Match

Review your best-fit offer under a pre-vetted PPA, ready to sign.

05

Manage

Power flows, and we keep monitoring performance and terms for as long as the contract runs.

The full journey

A typical deal, start to finish

What a C&I client and a generator each experience, from registration through fifteen years of live power delivery.

1

Registration

Basic details on location, annual electricity bills, and consumption shift patterns: takes about 20 minutes.

2

Requirement finalisation

Alignment on tender conditions, capacity, structure (rooftop or open access), timelines and generator criteria.

3

Tender published

Your requirement goes live to Wattmatch's vetted generator pool.

4

Generators quote

Vetted developers submit bids with tariff, technology, delivery timeline and performance guarantees.

5

Reverse auction

Price competition drives the tariff down. You see every bid, ranked transparently.

6

Contract signed

A Wattmatch-standardised PPA is executed between generator and C&I on the marketplace and reviewed by marketplace legal.

7

Escrow opened

The developer deposits performance security into a marketplace-managed escrow, protecting you against non-delivery.

8

Electricity flows

Post-commissioning, metered units flow, DISCOM billing hits escrow, repeating monthly for the life of the contract.

9

Ongoing management

Contract enforcement, performance monitoring, regulatory compliance tracking, refinancing support and carbon credit registry: all handled for you.

Over 15 years

What Wattmatch keeps doing after the deal is signed

A PPA is a 15–25 year commitment. Wattmatch's job doesn't end at signature.

Contract enforcement

Monitors PPA compliance, escalates breaches, manages dispute resolution as an independent arbiter.

Performance monitoring

Tracks actual generation against the PPA guarantee, and alerts you if generation falls below contracted levels.

Escrow management

Administers monthly payment flows, ensures the generator is paid only for units actually delivered, and processes penalty deductions.

Regulatory compliance

Monitors changing open-access rules, RCO updates and banking policies across states, and flags changes to both parties.

Refinancing support

Assists developers in refinancing projects at better rates post-commissioning, using the marketplace's aggregated track record.

Carbon credit registry

Registers your renewable consumption and helps manage tradeable carbon credits under India’s CCTS framework.
